GARLIC BREAD
Garlic bread is a classic appetizer found on almost every Italian-American restaurant menu. While its widespread popularity in the United States and beyond makes it seem like a quintessential Italian dish, it is, in fact, not as common in Italy as many might think.

Ingredients
- 1 loaf of French or Italian bread
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ cup butter (or olive oil for a more traditional touch)
- 2 tablespoons parsley, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese (optional)
Method
- Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). - Prepare the Garlic Butter:
In a small bowl, mix the butter (or olive oil), minced garlic, parsley, and salt. Stir until the mixture is well combined and fragrant. You can add Parmigiano Reggiano if you'd like to give it a cheesy twist! 🧄🧈 - Prepare the Bread:
Slice the loaf of bread into thick slices (about 1-inch thick) and arrange them on a baking sheet. - Spread the Garlic Butter:
Spread a generous amount of the garlic butter mixture on each slice of bread, making sure to coat each slice evenly. 🌿🍞 - Bake the Bread:
Place the bread in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and crispy on the edges. You can also broil the bread for an additional 1-2 minutes at the end to get a crispy top. 🔥🍞 - Serve:
Remove the garlic bread from the oven and serve hot. It’s perfect as an appetizer, side dish, or snack to enjoy with any meal! 🍽️
