Christmas Italian Recipe Nonna's Cakes & Desserts

Panforte: Tuscan Christmas Delight

A dense, aromatic, spiced fruit-and-almond cake from Siena, Panforte is one of Italy’s oldest holiday desserts.

Alongside Panpepato, Ricciarelli, Cavallucci, and Copate, it proudly represents the ancient pastry tradition of Tuscany.

Recently awarded IGP status, Panforte is a symbol of Italian Christmas—rich, perfumed, and incredibly satisfying.

Despite its long history, Panforte is surprisingly simple to prepare.

As always, ingredient quality makes all the difference: great honey, fresh spices, fragrant candied fruit, and whole almonds create an unforgettable result.
